Hola!
This is coming to you straight from the mountaintop of Panimaquin. It is 8:04 in the evening and we just finished eating dinner. Camilla and I are waiting for John and Alicia to get back from taking the kids home to Xeparquiy. I am absolutely thrilled to be here!! Exclamation points don´t do it justice. When we got here yesterday, Pastor Lazaro said ´´Welcome home!´´. After being in church with everyone, touring the mountain today, and waking to the sounds of cows; nothing truer could´ve been said.
Today our schedule said that us girls were going to be ´´working with flowers´´, which sounded harmless enough. Turns out we were using giant hoes and machetes to uproot a massive patch of flowers that we´re going to replant somewhere else tomorrow. At first it was a daunting task, but we ended up finishing, covered in mud and all. :D
God here is exactly as I remembered him. I don´t really have words yet for everything that I am feeling, experiencing, and being opened to, but it is so good. It feels like I´ve been so hard, bitter, and angry, killing the passionate girl inside of me who is in love with Jesus. Sounds kind of intense, and well, it is. haha. Anyways, to say the least, I can´t wait to see what is yet to come.
It is an honor to be here in this village with these people, including the ones I am traveling with. (And John, because it is sooo good to see him again! What an awesome man of God.) I know I said I might not be blogging, but eh, I might be. UNPREDICTABLEEEEE!!!! AHHHH. Okay, that was for Camilla. Buenas Noches!
