good morning

I woke up at 5 am this morning to ride with an old friend to Tampa for class. I love that, when with this person, we can drive in silence and be content driving over the bridge, watching the sunrise over the water, and the city appearing from the fog. It's a good, comfortable, secure feeling. I decided to go to campus about an hour early, and instead of taking the bus like I usually do to get to my class, I chose to walk.

What a beautiful morning! Cool enough to wear a jacket, but the sun was bright and warm, and I could hear the birds over the music in my headphones. Which, by the way, was the perfect song for the time. I love love love going to this campus of USF because it's so big and has so much wide open space. With practically nobody here this early, it was only intensified. I was wearing my big goofy sunglasses and smiling like an idiot, finding joy in everything I passed.

Whenever I have extra time here, I sit in the same spot in the same building. There's a massive window that I can look out of, and the sun shines right in on my favorite chair. I've encountered some insecurities this morning, but it's okay. Happiness depends upon ourselves, and I am determined to find it in everything I do.
